Kouba's Approach

Everybody travels a road to somewhere. The trick is to know where we are going. If we have no vision or goal, then we will just be swept up on whatever road that comes along and be forced to go wherever it takes us. Jesus already warned us of that very thing (Matthew 7:13-14). Sometimes a vision is born out of necessity and sometimes it happens as a result of influences on our lives.

God’s Word has had a tremendous influence on my life in helping me develop a vision for what God wants me to do and where He wants me to be. As well, other disciples of Jesus have influenced my life in helping me see more clearly the deep truths in the Bible. One of those friends, Russell McLaughlin, is a fellow minister who gave me some incredible insight into my life a disciple, both through personal study and example. From these influences is created a ministry philosophy that governs the youth program at League City.

PREMISE

"Love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these."
(Matthew 22:37-39 & Mark 12:30-31)

From the very beginning, we were created for life in fellowship with our Creator. The purpose of the Bible reveals to us how our relationship with God started, how we lost it, how we can get it back, and how we can keep it forever. The whole of God's will for our lives hinges on this premise; for when our love is right, our life is right.

PURPOSE

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
(Matthew 28:19-20)

From the very beginning, God chose us to be His and to experience His eternal love. To accomplish that end, ours is a lifestyle that coincides with God's created purpose within us to be...
1) Committed To The Word (John 8:31)
2) Committed To The Body (John 13:35)
3) Committed To The Lost (John 15:8)

PRODUCT

From the very beginning, God's desire is to make of us something we could never make of ourselves. All along, with His power, He has planned our destiny...
1) To Be Adopted (Ephesians 1:5)
2) To Be Like Jesus (Romans 8:29)
3) To Be In Heaven (Ephesians 1:11)
